In a few weeks we will be hosting an engagement party for my son and his fiance. We are super excited about this. We also realized we have only 3 weekends to get ready for thw party. So we asked ourselves what quick hit, low cost updates can we make in 3 weekends? Well... what about that bathroom counter-top?
This countertop has seen better days, and I don't know if we would have been crazy about this when it was new. But now it's yellowing and just looks like it isn't clean, no matter how much we scrape and scrub. Eventually, we want to replace (or reface) the entire counter, so replacing it would really be a temporary fix, which is neither quick or inexpensive. Can we paint it?
The guy at Home Depot said we could paint it with the right paint.

I know, this is appliance paint, and Rustoleum does make a version of this specifically for countertops. But that oddly does not come in white, and we really want white, so we are giving this a try. Following the instructions on this paint, we quick sanded the counter-top and then taped it off.

Once prepped we painted it with a foam roller. The paint is very thick and very sticky. We did a total of 2 coats and let each one dry for 24 hours and voila. It worked! I am so shocked.
We added a new faucet as well which really helped. This is shockingly better than it was.

What do you think? An improvement? Hey we know that we need to remodel this bathroom but we don't have the cash right now nor the time. So for now I think this is good enough.
