I couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't go into the basement laundry room with all the spiders, bugs, concrete, mess and dirt to do laundry anymore! It felt as if I was descending into a dungeon every single time. I lived in fear of running into spiders.

One day I grabbed my broom, my mop, window cleaner and some rags and went to the dungeon. I began to clean. After a couple hours I stood back sweaty and tired and observed my handiwork. The basement laundry room looked cleaner but still ugly and gross and still very much like a dungeon.

Within an hour I selected paint for the cinder block walls and spent the rest of that day and part of the next painting them. When I was done the room looked much brighter. But something was still off because the floor was still gross.

Back to Home Depot. Took me about 10 minutes to make a decision. I grabbed Traffic Master peel and stick floor tile in two colors, Marble and Ash. I installed it with no gap / no grout between them. Then I added a rug and some other decor items and I think this looks 100% better than it did before.

About the tile, I was really surprised at how easy it was to install. All the instructions online were very comprehensive. I really think anyone can do this.
